Contratos en ley 3.0
Is a groundbreaking digital platform developed by Sembrando Sentido, designed to enhance transparency in public procurement processes in Puerto Rico. As the UX designer for this project, I helped create a user-friendly interface that centralizes 2.6 million records, detects corruption risks in 13% of contracts, and has attracted 44,000 visits. CEL integrates and simplifies access to vital procurement data, providing valuable insights to ensure a more transparent, competitive, and efficient government contracting system.
my role
As the UX designer for the Contratos en Ley project, my role involved creating user interviews, developing wireframes, and implementing best practices in usability, accessibility, and universal design. I conducted comprehensive user interviews to understand the needs of diverse stakeholders, ensuring that the platform’s interface was intuitive and effective. I designed wireframes that enhanced the user experience by adhering to established usability frameworks and accessibility principles. My focus was on creating a user-centric design that maximizes civic impact, making the platform accessible and valuable for all citizens engaged in monitoring and evaluating public procurement processes.
Considering device accessibility
The mobile design of Contratos en Ley was created to ensure that, regardless of the device, everyone can monitor government contracts affecting their communities directly from their mobile devices.
This simple and accessible design is linked to the most commonly used networks by people in communities, resulting from a participatory design and co-creation effort.
